Acorns to oaks

Our ongoing children’s ministry, “Acorns to Oaks”, includes Bible study for your child’s age group Sundays at 9:45 & 11:00 a.m. Our Sunday School curriculum includes The Gospel Project, (an excellent chronological study of timeline Bible events - presenting the story of redemption through Jesus). Childcare is available during all worship services and Sunday School for infants through Preschool ages as well.

“Acorns to Oaks” represents a child starting out in life as a tiny “acorn” and as they grow physically, prayerfully they will also grow into a strong “oak” for Jesus Christ. Every child is created to be loved and valued. By providing Biblically-based age-appropriate lessons and activities, our children’s ministry team of teachers are committed to partnering with parents to provide a spiritual foundation for their children. It is our desire to assist families in establishing Christ-centered homes and stand with parents in discipling your children to come to know, love, serve and follow Jesus with all their hearts. “He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers.” Psalm 1:3

Awana

The Awana program at Calvary Baptist has been an integral part of the children’s ministry for 20 years. Meeting during the regular school year, our program runs from late August through end of May. Meeting times are 5:55 - 7:30 p.m.

Besides an evening with scripture memorization, games and fun activities, Awana emphasizes through His word a saving personal relationship with Christ and also challenges kids to learn how to serve Him with their lives.

This program has clubs (or groups) starting with 2 year olds - Puggles; 3 and 4 year olds - Cubbies; Kindergarten-2nd graders - Sparks; 3rd-6th graders - T&T (Truth and Training).

upward sports

Upward Basketball and Cheerleading..... Promoting the discovery of Jesus through sports. Upward Sports is an evangelistic sports ministry specifically designed for K4 through 6th grade boys and girls that promotes salvation, character, and self-esteem in every child and also the skills to play the game. Here at Calvary, our goal is for kids to be introduced to the Gospel and be trained in basic fundamentals of their sport. Parents love the family-friendly schedule, with a welcoming environment and coaches who teach the sport. Kids love the fact that they get to play or cheer every game, make new friends, and have fun learning new skills. Our Upward program is in January-February. Submitting to God’s authority, Upward desires to change generations for Christ and recognize that Every Child Is A Winner.
